Adding an Image using the Webcam

The webcam feature allows you to take a picture of a borrower and attach it to their record card in real time while they are with you in the library.

To use the webcam, load the Management page and then load the Borrower record card by selecting them in the 'Borrowers' table. Senior schools can also get to the same place by opening Circulate and loading the borrower into Circulate as you normally would.

If the borrower already has a picture it will show in the Photograph box, if they do not already have a picture, there will be a silhouette.

If you are replacing an existing photo with a new one, click the red and white X button to remove the current photo then click the webcam icon.

On the 'Web Cam' box, click 'Start Capture' to connect to your camera, you may need to allow access to your camera from your browser, look out for a popup message on your browser asking for permission.

You will then see the feed from your camera in the main box, move the camera to align the student's face inside the oval on screen and click 'Take Snapshot' to take a photo. You can take as many photos as you like, they will all appear in the list on the right-hand side.

When you have taken a photo you are happy with, select it in the box on the right-hand side and click 'Select Snapshot' to close the box and attach this photo to the borrower's record card.
