Not all libraries use fines, but you can enable or disable them as you see fit. If you choose to disable them then it will still be possible to make charges on a Borrower's account in the Senior Circulate interface.
Fines can be enabled/disabled by toggling the option on each Tutor Group. If the 'Fines Active' box is unticked, fines will not be generated for any Borrowers that belong to that Tutor Group (regardless of the restriction settings).
Log into your library site and load Management then select 'Tutor Group' in the right-hand menu.
Select the required Tutor group and click 'Edit' from the right-hand menu to open the tutor group record, place a tick in the ‘Fines Active’ box.
Click 'Save' to commit the changes to the Tutor Group.
You can then repeat these steps for each Tutor Group that you want to activate or deactivate fines for.
