Marc Tags

MARC tags are a set of codes within your library system, they are usually referred to as tags, indicators, and delimiters. They allow for data imported via Marc files to be correctly formatted and the data placed into the correct fields of a resource record.

Log into your library system and load Management. Click on 'Database' in the menu bar at the top of the page and select 'Lookup Maintenance' and 'MARC Tags' from the list. The MARC Tags table will open.

Click 'New' in the 'Records' box on the right-hand side. The 'MARC Tags [New]' record card will open.

Populate the 'Description' field and other required details as appropriate before clicking 'Save' to commit changes and return to the previous screen.
