Moderation

The Moderation feature allows you to view and action any reports of abuse or offensive speech by one of the borrowers.

Accessing Moderation

To access the Moderation window, log into your library system as a user with administrator level permissions and open the Management page. Select 'Database' from the menu bar at the top of the page and then select 'Moderation' from the menu.

If you do not see the 'Moderation' option, you are not using an administrator account, your account will need to be given administrator permissions via group manager. If you do not know the password for your built in administrator account, you can reset the password from the homepage.

Using Moderation

Once on the Moderation window you will see there are three tabs:

  • 'Active' shows all current pending abuse reports
  • 'Ignored' shows all previously ignored abuse reports
  • 'Blocked' shows all previously blocked abuse reports

While on one of the three tabs, you can select a record from the list and press 'Open' to load the report and view it in full and decide what to do with it.

When you have reviewed the report and made a decision, select one of the 3 buttons to action the report.

  • 'Ignore' will park the report for now, allowing you to collect information, for a bulling case for example.
  • 'Block' will prevent the two people in question (the reporter and the person being reported) from communicating in future.
  • 'Delete' will delete the report, use this if the report was made by accident.
