Interfaces and Sites

The first screen that is displayed when the Reading Cloud is opened is the ‘Homepage’. The Homepage gives access to core features of the library system for both borrowers and library staff. The appearance of the homepage can be altered by changing certain settings.

Interfaces

There are different homepage interfaces, each designed to engage users depending on their age range and preference. The two basic interface differences are junior and senior, there is also our junior classic interface.

The interfaces that are available, depend on the license(s) you have purchased.

Sites

'Sites' can be set up to display different interfaces when accessed. For example, a right through school with students of all ages would have both a Junior and Senior license, making it possible to create a site with one interface and another site with a different interface, even though both sites may show the same resources.

Though not required, it is possible to allocate resources to specific sites too. If the resources in the library system have been allocated to specific sites, when that site is opened, only resources of the respective site will show. Any resources that are not allocated to a site will display in all sites.

There is no limit to the number of different sites that can be created, they can all have the same interface or they can have specific sites set.
