Adding Book Resources to Your Library System

In a library, the majority of resources added to the system are normally books. Note the following about this resource type when adding one to the catalogue.

From the New Resource screen, click on the 'Book' icon.

Add the barcode and the ISBN if it has one and click 'Continue'.

Once the resource record card appears, click in each field and add information as required. Some of the boxes will allow you to select from a list of previously entered information, the rest are free type fields.

If an ISBN is entered, the computer will search the Discovery service database for the record which, if found, will close the Resources window and take the user to the resource record card to finish editing the record. If no record is found, the user will go to a blank resource record card to enter the details manually.

Once the resource record card appears, click in each field and add information as required. Some of the boxes will allow you to select from a list of previously entered information, the rest are free type fields.

Click 'Save' to add this resource to the system.

Once you have added your resources, you can set any specific restrictions required for this resource type.
