Adding Optional Data to the Library System via Connect

This needs to be done by someone from the IT team with access to the MIS Server. 

 

Changing the Settings

Find the MLS Importer Settings which should be installed on the MIS server.

Right click the program and select 'Properties'.

Select 'Compatibility'. 

Tick the box 'Run this program as an administrator”.

Click 'Apply'.

Click 'OK'.

Double click the MLS Importer Settings program to open it.

Tick any options you wish to add to your library system. 

Click 'Apply'.

Click 'Close'.

 

Running the Job

Find and load the Xporter management console which should be on the same desktop.

Select 'Jobs' on the left-hand side. 

Right-click the 'MLS-Eclipse' job in the middle.

Select 'Reset Changes'. 

Wait approximately 30 seconds. 

Repeat and select 'Run Job Now'. 

The newly selected data will be imported into the library system within the next 30 minutes. 

When importing Staff a year group needs to be entered into the 'Year Group' box, we recommend a number outside the normal range of your school such as 99.  Also if you are importing staff and optional data, please be aware that depending on your MIS, the optional data (Such as email) may be imported for your staff as well as students.
