Bulk scan in Circulate allows you to further speed up the process of returning resources. When scanning resources into Multi Return, the system updates the loan of each resource as it is scanned, bulk scan however just notes down the numbers of all the resources to return then returns them all in one go at the end.
This can be very useful if you have a long line of people returning resources, you can scan all the barcodes into bulk scan and then once the line has died down action the change and let the system do all the loan updates in the background.
To access bulk scan select the 'Multi Return' tab in Circulate and then click the 'Bulk Scan' button at the bottom.
Scan or type each barcode into the box at the top, when you scan a barcode it will automatically be added to the large box in the middle, when you type a barcode you will need to press Enter or Return on your keyboard to add the barcode to the large box in the middle.
Once you have typed or scanned all the needed barcodes, press 'OK' at the bottom and all the resources will be returned and their loans updated.
Be aware that clicking 'Close' will cancel the return of these resources, they will need to be scanned again in order to be returned.
