Connect Error 'Could Not Find Part of the Path X:\Folder'

The Groupcall Windows service does not have permission to access the share specified in the error.

To resolve this error, the user account that the Groupcall Xporter service is running under needs to have a minimum of 'modify' over the specified folder and ensure that it is able to access this share.

Failing this, you may be able to resolve this error by changing the user account that the Groupcall service runs under to a domain account which has access to this folder.

  • Open the 'Service Management' console.
  • Click 'Control Panel'.
  • Click 'Administrative Tools'.
  • Click 'Services.MSC'.
  • Scroll down the list and find the service labelled 'Groupcall Xporter'. By default, this service uses a local account (usually 'Local System') and if this user does not have permissions to access files across the network then this is the cause of this issue.
  • Right-click on this service and choose 'Properties'.
  • From the properties window, click the 'Log On' tab and specify a domain account which has permissions to access the folder specified.
  • Click 'Apply' to set the changes and then 'OK' to keep them.
  • Restart the 'Groupcall Xporter 2010' service by right-clicking and selecting 'Restart'.

After the service has been restarted, you can test to see whether this has resolved the issue by manually rerunning Connect.

If the error persists after changing the user account, You may need to change the path from a mapped network drive to a UNC path. Change the path in the Importer Settings on the Connect server.
