Creating A Custom Section on the Homepage

In addition to adding news articles, a custom section can be added to the homepage. This could be used to promote specific school events, or changes to the library.

This can be done by opening the Homepage as Administrator, and selecting 'Edit Homepage'.

You will then be presented with the configuration panel. Towards the bottom of this panel is the option for 'Add Section'.

Click this button, and select Custom Section.

You will then be presented with an editor window. This will allow you to add text, links, images and embed videos.

To set a thumbnail image, click the 'Insert/edit image' icon.

Images can be any standard format (.jpg. png etc.) The height and width can be specified if required. This will automatically adjust to maintain the scale of the original image. Should you wish to amend this, click the Padlock icon.

To add other media, select the insert/edit media button. 

Paste the link to the video/media source into the 'Source' field, then specify the height and width of the item using the 'Width' and 'Height' boxes. 

Once you have added your required text and/or media, select the 'Save' option. You will then be asked where you would like to position this new section. 

Once your selection is made, your new section will be added. This can be further edited once saved by opening the Configure panel, and clicking the 'Edit Section' Pencil icon. The section can be deleted by clicking the 'Delete section' bin icon.
