Managing Reservations

Reservation slips are generated when a reserved item is returned. For Junior Circulate, this setting needs to be enabled but this occurs in Senior Circulate by default. If there are multiple copies of a resource, all copies will be reserved. The advantage of this is that if all copies of the reserved title are out on loan, the first copy to be returned will initiate the reservation notification.

When a user makes a reservation in Circulate or the Homepage, the reservation will be put into the Reservations table which can be accessed by selecting the 'Reservations' icon in Management.

All reservation will show in the main grid and display the name of the borrower that made the reservation and the details of the item they reserved. You can print a reservation slip from the right menu by selecting the reservation and clicking 'Print Slip'. When you print a reservation slip the system creates a PDF document which will open in your PDF viewer.

Like all the other database tables, you can customise the presentation of the displayed resources by using page views.

Borrowers can remove reservations themselves once logged in, but should you wish to do this on their behalf, this can also be done in the Reservations table or Circulate. There is no recycle bin in the Reservations table so once deleted, they are permanently gone.

There are a number of reservation settings that can be configured to tailor them to your personal preferences.
