Renewing While Fines Are Enabled

When you renew an overdue resource, the system will calculate the fine at the time of the item being renewed and debit the account accordingly.

For example, if the resource is 4 days overdue with a fine rate of £0.05 and the item is then renewed, there will be an entry in the borrower's statement for the calculated amount (£0.20) their balance will be debited and the current fine then gets reset. Should the resource become overdue again, the same process applies.
