Scanning into Quick Search

We do not advise you scan barcodes into the 'Quick Search' box, it will not recognise the barcode and display as a blank screen. this is because the 'barcode masks' do not apply to the 'Quick Search' function. Quick search allows you to search through multiple other fields such as ISBN, Author, Year and Tutor Groups. 

If you are only looking for one resource, load the relevant table (Resources, Borrowers etc.) and click anywhere on the page that isn't the quick search box, then scan the barcode. The masks will apply and if there is a match, the book/borrower will be loaded on screen. If you wish to use the barcode scanner for multiple resources/borrowers we recommend using Flag by Barcode.
