Altering the Loan Duration in Circulate
When issuing resources in Circulate, it is possible to alter the time period the resource is issued for.
By default, the 'Normal' option is used when issuing a resource.
- Normal is the loan duration that is specified by your Restrictions.
- Day is exactly that, a day loan. The resource will be due back at the end of the day.
- Overnight, again as simple as it sounds. The resource will be due back the next day.
- Manual allows you to set a specific due date. If you check the Manual check box, you can then select a date from the date field.
Most of the time it is likely that you will issue an item with Normal selected but it's helpful to know that other options are available should you wish to deviate from the default.
Manual can be helpful for students doing exam revision, who may need to resource for a longer period than normal. This could also be used to re-issue a loan that was incorrectly returned early. If you select the original due date, the loan will become overdue at the same time as the original loan would have.
