Barcode Label Styles

A label style is where you define the dimensions and margins of the labels. Using this information, the system automatically calculates how many labels are on each page.

The library system contains a number of label styles already in place, if you find that the one you require is not present, you can create your own.

To add a new label style, log into your library system and open Management. Next click 'Modules' then 'Labels...' and then 'Label Styles...'.

The 'Label Styles...' box will appear on screen.

When a label template is associated with the label style, that style will show near the top of the list for ease of use. Otherwise the label styles are listed in alphabetical order.

To create a new label style, click the 'New' button on the 'Label Styles...' window. To edit an existing label style, select it from the list and click the 'Edit' button.

After either option is selected, the 'Label Style' editing window will show on screen. When editing an existing label, the description, sizes and paper size fields will already be populated.

The 'Description' box is used to give a name to the label style.

To create the label style, enter the dimensions into the appropriate boxes using the key to assist. If the dimensions of the label are unknown but you have a page of labels, each element should be measured using a ruler, then enter each measurement into the relevant section. Ensure the dimensions are entered in millimetres.

With the dimensions entered, select the paper size for the labels from the list.

Once finished, click the 'Save' button to save the label style and return to the 'Label Styles' window.

With the label style now saved, it will show in the list of label styles available in both the 'Label Styles' and 'Label Print' interfaces.
