Label Print Alignment

Purpose

Resolve issues with generated labels aligning incorrectly when being printed.

Covers: The correct alignment for label print.

Does not cover: How to print off labels/library cards, creating/editing label templates, and editing label styles.

When to Do This

Typically you will need to follow this after you have generated your labels for your borrowers/resources, but before you print them off onto blank labels.

Instructions

When printing labels from the label preview window, the printer settings box will open. The settings here are used to select the printer you wish to print to as well as specify the layout of the print.

Certain selections need to be made from this window to ensure the labels print correctly and do not misalign on the physical sheet. Browsers can apply their own scaling and formatting settings which can cause the labels to be misaligned, or not fit on the labels correctly.

Some of the settings below are commonly found to be causing the issue:

Chrome

  • On the 'Print Options' window click 'More Settings'.
  • Under 'Scale' select 'Default' from the menu.

Firefox

  • At the top change 'Scale' to '100%'.

Microsoft Edge

  • On the 'Print' window click 'More settings'.
  • Under 'Scale (%)' select 'Actual size'.

Tips

- Check label alignment on blank sheets of paper to save using up blank labels.
