Links
The Links feature is used to point your borrowers to other resources outside of the library system, such as other school resources, public libraries, dictionaries & encyclopaedias and other learning tools.
If you have made good use of links and promoted it well, there is a good chance that a borrower would load the library system simply to access a link and not actually use the library system. Therefore, to help speed the process up, the Links feature is accessible without being logged into the library system.
We strongly advise that your Links do not contain any data sensitive information (passwords, usernames, personal data).
To add a link, log into the library system as an administrator user and load Management. From the menu bar at the top of the page, select 'Settings' and then from the list, select 'Links...'.
To add new links, click the 'New' box. Select a Category from the list, remember that these links will be available to anyone so do not put anything private into the 'Teachers' or 'Librarians' categories. If you select the 'Other' category, select a group from the second list.
Give the link a fitting title and description, then add the link into the 'URL' box. Click the 'Open...' button to test the link, if nothing happens, the link is not correct. Ensure the URL is present in full, including any prefixes such as https:// and www.
Finally, select a fitting Icon for the link by clicking the 'Change...' button. This is not essential, but does make it much more inviting. Click 'OK' to save the link to the list.
The links will then display on the links page of your homepage, each category will show as a separate tab.
