Admin Password Reset Email Address

There is provision in Management for two email addresses to be entered to facilitate self service password resets for the administrator username. 

There are available fields for both the 'Library Lead' and the 'Administrator/IT Lead' email addresses. These fields will be used for verification when requesting a password reset through the Reading Cloud support team. This makes it very important that at least one, but ideally both, of these boxes are filled in correctly. 

To access this area, log into your library system as an administrator and load Management. Then from the menu bar at the top of the page, select 'Settings' then 'General...' from the list. Then select the 'School Details' tab. 

It is also important to make sure that they are two different email addresses. If there is only one email address and the person leaves the organisation without carrying out a handover, there is no way to recover the administrator password. 

Enter different emails into both fields, then select 'OK' at the bottom of the box to save the changes. 

Once these boxes are populated you can reset your administrator password from the homepage should you forget it, this process varies depending on your subscription. 

 

Popup Alerts

If loading Management and you do not have these addresses set, you may see info boxes appear, alerting you that there is no email address set within the system for use with password resets.

When you first log in to your library system as the administrator and these boxes are not populated, you will be presented with an alert message.

This is to alert you that the boxes mentioned above are empty and need to be populated, clicking the "OK" button will take you straight to the school details window to add the email addresses to the system. 

If you access the management page of your library system as the librarian, or another account with management access but without administrator rights, you will be presented with an alternate message.

When you receive this message, please log into the management area as the administrator, or get whoever holds the administrator login details to do so and populate the email boxes mentioned above. If you do not know your administrator login details, please contact us to get the administrator password reset so you can fill it in for future reference. 

Once these boxes are populated you can reset your password from the homepage should you forget it, this process varies depending on your subscription.
