"This Item Has Already Been Marked as Missing" When Marking as Missing
Purpose
To explain why the message "This Item Has Already Been Marked as Missing" appears.

This error occurs when the resource on loan has already been marked as missing without the resource being marked as 'returned'. This will mean that the resource will still display in the Current loans table.
Essentially, this means that the system believes that the resource is still on loan to the borrower, as the resource has been removed but the loan was not amended.
Instructions
An item that is missing cannot be 'returned', so the resource must be restored. To do this, load the Resource table, then select 'Recycled Records'. Now, search for the resource that is still on loan. Select it, and then click the 'Restore' option from the 'Records' box on the right of the table.
When the resource has been restored, you can then go back to the Current Loans table and select the Loan for the resource you have just restored. You can then mark the record as missing, and mark the loan as 'returned' by ticking the 'Return Resource' check box, which will remove the record from the Current Loans table. This can be thought of as cancelling the loan or writing it off. It will show as returned on the Borrower record, and in the Past Loans table. The resource will also be moved to the Recycled Records, so it is no longer considered an active resource and will be unavailable to any Borrower.
A different workaround is to follow the guide on marking multiple resources as missing, this can be done for an individual item, the key part is using 'Flag by Mouse' and ensuring 'Return Resource' is ticked. If this is not ticked, the resource will still show as on loan or overdue in the Current Loans table, despite being marked as missing.
