What Is the Hosted Site Address (URL)?

Purpose

To provide details on the best method for accessing your school's library site

Instructions

Your library site URL is in this format - https://uXXXXXX.microlibrarian.net

Replace the XXXXXX with your customer number padded out to 6 digits with leading 0s. 

  • Customer Number: 12345 - URL: https://u012345.microlibrarian.net 
  • Customer Number: 12 - URL: https://u000012.microlibrarian.net

This address can be accessed from any device connected to the Internet using a browser, so can be used from any machine in the school or if you are working remotely. 

Do not search via google or another search engine and do not use any of the generic URL addresses, as this may load incorrectly, cause performance issues or cause you to receive an error message saying you are unlicensed for this interface.

Your customer number was provided to you in your "Welcome to Reading Cloud" email.


I do not know and cannot find the school's customer number, what do I do?

If you do not know your customer number/ID then please complete this webform.

Please ensure that all requested information is included. When adding your email address, please note that this must be an email address from the school, associated with the school's domain. If your contact details cannot be validated, then your information request cannot be processed. 
 
 

The wrong school name is showing on my Library system

This is caused by loading the wrong library system.

Ensure you are not searching for your library system via Google or any other internet search engine. 

Ensure the correct web address is being used by reloading your website using your dedicated URL.

If your school/establishment has changed name, you will need to contact the Admin team to have the name on the account amended. Please email info@reading-cloud.com.

Q: Can I add a link to the library site on my school's website/VLE?

A: Yes. To make it easier for your students to access the library system, we recommend that you add the library system to one or more of your school's website, VLE or Intranet. 


This makes it much easier for students to access the site and browse the catalogue, rather than them having to remember the full URL. It is even more beneficial if you use multiple sites as the URL gets much more complicated and harder to remember when multiple sites are involved. 

When adding the library system to any of the above suggestions, ensure you use your direct URL as discussed above, not a generic reading cloud URL.
