Borrower Record Card - Current Loans
Purpose
To details the usage of the Current Loans tab in the Borrower record card.
Covers: Viewing of Current Loans tab
Does not cover: Past Loans, or borrower personal information
When to Do This
When you wish to view only the current loans for a specific borrower.
Instructions
When in the Borrower record card, select the Current Loans tab.
The Current Loans tab is used to see which resources the selected borrower currently has on loan. This tab does not show historic loans, to see resources that the borrower has previously borrowed, select the Past Loans tab.
It is possible to mark items that are currently on loan as missing from this Window. To do so, highlight the book in the list and click the 'Mark as missing...' button. In the 'Missing' window that appears, ensure you tick the box 'Return resource' also. Otherwise the resource will be marked as missing, but still show as outstanding on the Borrower record. For further information see the article on marking an individual resource as missing.
The outstanding loan information can also be found in the 'Current Loans' table. Load this table in Management, and search for the Borrower's name using Quick Search. Any current loans will be listed. The same can be done in Past Loans to view the Borrower's loan history.
