Editing Existing Resource Records
Purpose
To provide information on amending or adding details to existing resources
Covers: Editing and amending existing resources
Does not cover: Cataloguing new resources, removing resources
Instructions
To change details on an existing resource, locate the record you wish to amend. This can be done via quick search, advanced search, Flag by Mouse or Flag by Barcode.
Once the resource has been located, single click to highlight it then click on 'Edit' from the records toolbox on the right of the screen. Alternatively, double click the record in the grid to open it.

Make the necessary amendments here and select 'Save' to commit changes and return to the previous screen.
When editing fields such as Location or Genre, selecting the drop down menu will provide any existing values that are used in other resources for that specific field. Once entered, this will be available to select when editing or cataloguing other Resources. If the option you wish to add is already used, you can select this from the drop down. Entering the first few letters will bring up the closest currently available value.
For example, if you wish to include a resource in a specific location, enter the name of this area in the Location field. If it already exists, the system will show this in the drop down menu.
If you find options showing that you do not wish to be available, these will need to be removed from each resource using that particular value. I.E. if the option for Location "Library Annex" is no longer used, you would need to change the location of each resource using "Library Annex" as a location to stop this being suggested.
