Instructions
Before the stock check function can be utilised, a stock check must be created through the Management interface on the school site. Once created, the stock check can take up to 24 hours before it is available through the app.
The Reading Cloud app allows you to carry out a stock check using your mobile device's camera as a barcode scanner. You can pick up a resource, scan it into the stock check and return it to the shelf immediately, removing the need to take the resources off the shelves and over to the computer in batches.
After loading and logging into the app as an administrator user, select the 'Stock Check' option under 'My Library', you will see all your stock checks on screen. Select the stock check you are doing and an input box will display. here you can either type the barcode of the book using your on screen keypad and press the enter/return button to enter each barcode, or you can click on the barcode symbol to turn on your camera and use it as a barcode scanner and scan each book into the stock check.
Once you have scanned some resources the title and information will be displayed on screen. Repeat this process for as many resources as you like.
You can also have multiple people scanning into the stock check simultaneously if you have multiple devices, drastically speeding up your stock check.
When you are happy that you have scanned all the resources, you will need to load the stock check on the PC/laptop to complete it.
Be aware that any changes made on either the library system or app (creating or deleting a stock check) can take up to 24 hours to update on the other system.
