Instructions

Labels/Library Cards

Before printing out your labels/library cards there's a few things you may want to consider. If you wish to Order Barcode Labels then we would recommend doing this as soon as possible so that we can send these out to you.

There is also a difference between Label Print and Card Print:

  • Label Print is designed to offer you a way of generating your own customised barcode labels for resources and borrowers. Label print can also be used to print labels without barcodes, such as classification spine labels.
  • Card print allows you to create small credit card sized cards that can be printed out for each Tutor Group and given to the borrowers as a library card. They can also be kept with the computer for easy access.

Within the library system you will be given default label styles and templates, however it is also possible to create your own. These are good for if you're wanting to create bespoke labels to suit your needs.

  • Although there are many different Barcode Label Styles within the library system, it is possible to create your own. It is important to note that we already have many common label styles listed within the library system.
  • For label templates, we have included various default options to choose from within the library system. Creating and Editing Label Templates is a process you can follow should you wish to make any changes to the existing templates, or create new ones.

Finally, you can now follow Printing Resource and Borrower Labels to generate and print labels for your borrowers to use. You may find that when printing these off the Label Print Alignment isn't correct. This is usual behaviour and will just require a few changes within your settings.

Library cards are printed a little differently from labels as they have limited customisation available. Using Card Print is recommended should you follow a more traditional library card system for Borrower access.

RFID

For RFID, you can import this numbers via CSV en masse to apply to all records in one do.

Tips

- Complete a test print in a small batch before any mass printing.

- Try to keep spare labels/library cards ready for new joiners.
